A parallel of two different women

Acts 16:16
This young lady was enslaved by her masters’ in the city of Philippi. Her masters’ was making profit out her.

This young girl possessed the three D’s
Divination – Soothsaying, fortune telling.
Declaration – Knowledge of the two men
“You are servants of the most high God”
Deliverance – Paul delivered her from the evil spirit instantly.

1. When you are treated wrongly, keep your joy to your uppermost (to God)
Acts 16:25 “But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns unto God, and the prisoners were listening to them;”
2. God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him
Acts 16:32 “And they spake the word of the Lord unto him, with all that were in his house.”
3. When you are treated wrongly, keep your witness with others in mind.
Acts 16:28 “But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.”
4. Unrighteous foundations will be shaken.
Acts 16:26 ”
and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison-house were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened; and every one’s bands were loosed.”

Acts 16:14
Lydia was originally from Thyatira but was living in Philippi when she met Paul. She was a seller of purple cloth, which Thyatira was famous for, being a center of indigo trade. She was a worshipper of the Lord and when she heard Paul the Lord opened her heart and she became a kingdom finance. Lydia, although a native of Asia Minor, is the first person recorded to have been saved in Europe.

While the Lord was shuting down one system (soothing, fortune telling) in Acts 16:18 he was rising up another system (advancement of the kingdom) in Acts 16:15
